The green chart down the page says the addition of the rhythm II drum machine (above the tab rail) made the difference between T300 and T400.

It's a recurring theme that hammond keeps using up the stock til' it's all gone... maybe that's the case, or maybe I just don't really know what I'm talking about!

Which side of the globe was yours made on?

Mine would have been made in the USA. And the ID tag says Illinois, however I don't know if that was the manufacture location or just the company headquarters.

I'd say they just keep using up stock till it's gone. Working in manufacturing, I think most places do that, unless there is a serious design flaw or safety issue. But even in that case some places still just use up stock, and take care of problems as people call about them. If the factory is still in business and you need to confirm exactly what your equipment is made of, you have to go by the serial number.

              Hi guys,

Simon is right, it's definitely a T-2xx-1 model. Number 1 means that it has the six voice percussion buttons on the cheek block instead of brush/cymbal thingy in my T-200. T-300 had 10 percussion voices and T-400 had the drum machine. Like the captain says: Early organs had the flat 'pie' scanner as found in other Hammond organs. Later organs had the 'drum' scanner So it might have had a pie scanner that someone has removed, or then the factory ran out of pies and started using roll scanners... To me the scanner/motor thing in the pictures looks "home made", though...

Does anyone have any comments on the faults demoed in the above videos?
Also the quality of the vibrato?
Sometimes I think it sounds choppy and other times it sounds fine

Presuming the "faults" you're speaking of are the listed issues that you pointed out in your opening post, Brendon is your guy. Without dismissing the knowledge of other members here in the forum, he's most likely ~the go-to fella~ on T-issues. Maintane a dialog with him on the faults you're speaking of and between the two of you fellas along with the rest of the T-Clan here you should be able to work out the kinks. Diligent searching within the forum's content should yield answers to your questions as well.

He's been in and out of his T like he was gutting a fish. In my own screwball opinion .. whatever that's worth .. he knows the innards of one of those Ts as well as anyone could expect to be. His experience with it isn't clouded by doctorates and sheepskins hanging on the wall, he's just got a lot of hands-on real world experience with them. For instance the AM-ish ("choppy") vibrato may indeed be nature of the particular beast.

Checking out before I open my mouth only to change feet again. (everyone is good at something .. and "hoof-in-mouth-disease" is my absolute specialty!)

                            Good morning ...

                            :)

                              Howdy once more papus!
I'd only skimmed through the vids before and hadn't realised there were faults showing up.
I've looked through the first vid so far, I'll come back later for the rest.
                              So far I can see:

1]pedal drawbar needs cleaned. You'll need to do this manually rather than with a cleaning spray because the plastic housing will eventually turn brittle.
more on that later if you need info on the job.

2] Not a problem but your pedal Tone rattles the glassware here fine!

3] The Intermittent Pedal- I haven't got my original tabs, so I can't remember what tab it is you're using when the pedal wasn't working every time. Does it do that at any other time?

4] Missing lower manual tones will be from the black foam rubber which has broken down and has eaten though a few of the wires. One of these days we'll need to work though the defoaming job. You'll want a cupla free evenings, some good light and space to make a mess.

5]the Lower Manual missing top tones of the two highest drawbars are just because the spinet doesn't have foldback. That's normal.

6] The vibrato may be a little irregular I think, but it wouldn't be a thing that bothers me, in fact mine's irregular too! It could be the scanner needing a clean (in mine it could be the scanner's warped, it's a different kind than yours) and I'm not sure of the details, but it could even be a capacitor disconnected in the vibrato line box or something.
Does it bother you or is it okay?

                              Back later.
                              -Brendoon
