  • M102 No sound from Sub-Fundimental on middle A (both keyboards)

    Hi Guys,

I recently had my hammond shipped and discovered that the tone generator locks had come loose. (An annoying problem I would like to fix)
There does not seem to be any damage that I can find and the organ still works perfectly apart from that there is no sub harmonic on my middle A (Second A from Left) on both keyboards.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for a hopeful fix?

I haven't done any work on my Hammond before, however am capable of doing so and thought I'd check here to see if anyone could get me started?

    Cheers,

Most likely a wire got ripped from the TWG.
Figure out which frequency and then locate the contact/solder point on the TWG.
Second A is Freq #34. That one does not have a filter cap.
34 and 39 are located/attached right where the wire bundle splits in two pieces.
I have seen lots of posts here where both break off together when a M3 or M100 is moved without being locked down.

#34 is the usual suspect.Way better odds than 1/87.

Thanks guys, will check it out and get back to you.

As to the problem of the locks coming loose. This has happened before. Any ideas or quick fixes to stop this happening? I had them locked in tight, but still ended up all over the place

Perhaps either Blue Loctite (used in most laptop computers) or Teflon Tape.

Found the broken connection on #34 Thanks guys.

Will give plumbing tape a go. Might be a bit thick for this thread size. I'll steer clear from glue. If I come up with anything else. I'll let you know.

            Thanks again for the help
