  • Looking for a Hammond H-100 motor.

My Hammond H-182 is in dire need of a new motor. The original motor was reluctant to start, and was more or less murdered by a “professional” repairman's attempted repair. My dealer, being a good man, tried to find a replacement motor before giving me my money back and exiting the Hammond business altogether. At the moment, I have a four hundred pound decoration in my living room.

Does anyone have a functional motor from an H100 they are willing to sell and ship to Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701? I'm hesitant to buy a motor off eBay, considering the damage done by Mr. Hack Repair Man and the profit-based motives of some sellers.

Personally, I haven't had any issues whatsoever from buying Hammond motors off of eBay. I have found that the guys parting out and selling Hammond parts on a regular basis with a 100% feedback rating are pretty reliable. You just have to watch the prices...as there are some sellers that are more realistic than others. You can save a lot of $$ going this route as opposed to going to one of the regular parts sites on the Net. I made that mistake when I started working on these organs and I spent WAAYY too much money. Live and learn....

Broaden your search with E, L and T series having the same motors. Especially the L/T that are parted on ebay or scraped quite often. I'm sure even now there's one somewhare waiting. Also make sure it is not just the motor capacitor you need.

I rebuild Hammonds and Leslies. Please visit my website. tbstonewheels.com It's still in the works but is up and running. My personal setup is a Model A # 2203 with Trek II percussion, 122RV and 2 31h's. One is fitted with two speed motors and the other a Hamptone. Also sporting a working Vibratone 30A # 326.
