  • M100 upper drawbars not playing high notes

Okay so I got an m100 for free a while back. At the time they thought it wasnt working at all. That turned out to be a simple matter of getting the startup motor unstuck. I thought the organ was working flawlessly but I recently noticed that some of the high notes on the upper manual won't produce sound with the upper drawbars. They produce sound with all of the keys on the lower drawbars. They all cut off at around the same frequency. Like with each draw bar it cuts off at a different key but at relatively the same pitch. Anybody have any idea what the issue could be? Is one of the tonewheels not working or are the drawbars disconnected somewhere? Any help or guidance is appreciated.

    Hello,

    Refer to service manual :

Look at the table to locate what works and what does not work.

I got an M100 for $15 years ago and it had a few seized up tone wheels. I think Dad and I got impatient and blasted some WD-40 in there, sure enough, they spun to life... but WD-40 is usually not recommended, if I recall correctly. Not great to mix two kinds of oil, I think?
The spinet models also don't have foldback, meaning that it only generates tones that go so high and then nothing, instead of repeating the octave like a full-size console, but it sounds like only some of the notes aren't working?

There's nothing wrong with your organ - the smaller models are supposed to work like that. Above frequency #91 (which is a high F# note) there isn't supposed to be anything. Thats one of the major differences between the full size and the smaller Hammonds.
        Current organs: AV, M-3, A-100
        Current Leslies: 22H, 122, 770

I have foldback kits available that will fix the "dead" notes at the upper end.
