I just spoke to a guy who is keeping a A-100 and an S6 in a garage. Being that it's around 10 degrees in New England my question is.... Is this killing the organs or does temperature not necessarily hurt the old tube organs. I would think it's a really bad situation. Would purchasing one of these be a bad idea if they've been "refrigerated" for the past week or two?.

There are a number of different issues here.
The big swings in temperature and humidity that you get in a garage are not good for the lacquer finish, so storing them in a garage or shed for an extended period will likely damage the finish. They can also get mice or other destructive pests in them.
In terms of the electronics, the temperature won't have any effect on that part. If an organ is very cold, the tone generator may not start until it warms back up. I had to deal with an organ in someone's garage once when it was in the 30s Fahrenheit, and it wouldn't start until we warmed it up (carefully) with heat guns.I'm David. 'Dave' is someone else's name.

For many years, the B-3 at Comiskey Park in Chicago wintered outside under a canvas tarp. Those were the days. Do not try this with a Roland, Technics, or Lowrey.Larry K

Why not?
You should have seen where I found my Lowrey. It probably sat out in the rain and snow for a week before I picked it up.
Actually I found a cheapy transistorised Wurlitzer in even worse conditions, and it looked like brand new when I got rid of it twenty years later. I hated to get rid of it because of its condition. That cabinet was built better than any other home organ cabinet I've seen.
Both of those organs got saturated in cat urine over a decade ago and were abandoned in a non-climate controlled area until I decided to clean them up a few years ago.
