Well I feel luckier, after hearing the M3 and 30watt 21H work together. I found that there was only one tube I couldn't read. It had to be the 635. I had plugged the Leslie up before, but only got spin and no sound, but I dug out my 6L6 (5881) quartet, and tried it again. This time it worked. I didn't even change a tube. I guess it's all in beginner's luck.

I'm so glad for everyone that read and responded. I didn't expect to like it here this much, but why not?

Now what? I forgot to turn the Leslie all the way up and try it,:-> (Muddy Waters' test). At straight up it's as loud as the M3. Then I'll have to learn to use my camera and post a video.

    Thanks,
    GW

It was louder than I expected. A bit of hum when the tremelo is switched on, with it cranked, but not noticeable when playing. Much clearer than I expected.

I stumbled upon this page, which is a pretty good description of Hammond / Leslie sound info, with some DIY fixes. Probably been posted many times before.

      It's copyrighted 2000 Marc Mercier.

I feel the same way. I came looking to see if the price on an M-111/25 combo was good, and 4 months later I'm finally able to help answer basic basic questions =D

I actually get more gain from my M-111 into the 31 than the A-100 into the 31. A-100 is much louder on its own though. Plus I can get distortion control a bit easier from the A.

The hum may be caused by Leslie not knowing the words. Hmmmm.

My parents attend the Catholic church I grew up in (mainly my mom attending). My sister and I go back for Easter and Christmas mass. They have a lot of singing in the mass, I guess the priest really likes singing. Anyway, normally, the people there are part of the community so they know the words. But on Easter and Christmas people bring their families so there's always a packed house but the same amount of people singing. By the second verse the melody gets kinda bass heavy (from all the humming along) and by the third verse there's usually more people singing.

Nobody plays an organ =( I might've kept going if there was a Hammond/Leslie player =D
