need a little help...I acquired an old a100 and an old 21h that came as a set. I've had the power amp repaired and the 21h amp as well. The tech that fixed the both couldn't get them to work properly together. The hammond has the five pin out and the 21h has the six pin in. Since the wire were cut when the power amp was removed it's unkown how the 428 box was connected to get everything to function. The 428 box states that you need to refer to schematics if you're connecting a 21h to an a100. Would anyone have info on the schematics and how to get everything going properly? I've got sound but loads of distortion and could only run the 21h on fast....note that there the main echo combo swtch as well.

I believe the 5 pin on the amp is only meant for a Hammond Tone Cabinet (PR) unless it has been specifically rewired to support a 21H (or other 122 style) Leslie.
This can be done. I have an A105 wired directly to a 22H without using a Leslie Kit.
To rewire the 428 see:

Distortion could be from either organ or Leslie. You have a lot of factors that need sorting out to determine the actual problem. Is there distortion in the organ without the Leslie hooked up?
Where are you located? Someone on this forum may be close by and can help.
It's hard to diagnose from long distance without great details of the problems.
Is your Leslie plugged into the 5 pin on the organ power amp? Unless rewired correctly, the speed won't switch.
The 5 to 6 pin hookup is correct for your model organ.
If someone altered the standard setup then the schematics may not help and hooking the Leslie to the power amp is not standard although will work fine if done properly.Hammonds: A; AB; B3; D; E; 6-M3's; 2-A100; T582C.

He's a nice guy and might sell you the instructions you need for a small fee if no one here can help you.
Echo switch info here.

PDFs of many kits here:

This looks more relevant to your setup though.

The 8000 kit is for organs without internal power amps and speakers as it is meant to go directly from the preamp to the Leslie. No echo control is involved as there is only sound from the Leslie. The 8101 kit is for connecting A100s to 122 style Leslies while still keeping the internal speakers active and switchable.

I also found that the 22H manuals contain detailed instructions for hooking up various kits.
