  • Can you HELP me with my 122 rebuild? - Do you live anywhere near Medway Kent, UK?

I want to save having to connect too many synapses on my 122 rebuild by hooking up with anyone local who would let me have a look at the wiring of a 122 or 145/7 Leslie.

You could still help if you have photos of the underside of the chassis so I can see what wires are connected to what.

I have Leslie wiring diagrams (and a good brain for completely wiring things like houses, cars and basic household appliances), but no background in valves.

    Please give me a yell.

Hi Jim I don't have a 122 at the moment, but in the past when I have done 122 to 147 rebuilds or vice versa I have found some good close ups of the undersides of the amps in google images. Hope this helps.

Here is a link for the schematic of a 122.....also this thread might be moved to the "Leslie/Tone Cab" section

Maybe you're already on this, but take digital photos of the underside of your chassis from a few different useful angles before you start taking things apart.

When I rebuilt my 21h I unsoldered only one end of the component at a time, leaving the other end connected and hooking the new part up to the old connection before taking out the old part entirely then finishing up with the new part, that way I could match the new part with the old while it was still partially in place. Sometimes I had to undo more than one at a time where they were stacked or otherwise in the way, but for the most part I tried to replace parts one at a time and not have too much disconnected at once. It was my first rebuild and came out right the 1st time.

          Cheers folks.
I looked at a few google photos of the wiring and found a few shots, but I stumbled on this video which may be worth sharing:

This guy explains the rebuild and I will watch the series to see if he goes into enough detail.

I have a 122 amp. If you want to fly me there, I can bring it with me and start and complete the rebuild. What do you say? (Smiles)
I rebuild Hammonds and Leslies. Please visit my website. tbstonewheels.com It's still in the works but is up and running. My personal setup is a Model A # 2203 with Trek II percussion, 122RV and 2 31h's. One is fitted with two speed motors and the other a Hamptone. Also sporting a working Vibratone 30A # 326.
