This video is from a Leslie 710 which shows the idler arm wobbling at both slow and fast speeds. This isn't normal as I have another 710 where the idler arm is perfectly stable. What is causing the wobble and how can I fix it?
Thanks to the experts who contribute their talents and time!
Doesn't look like much of a problem that it needs to "be fixed". It's supposed to take up the slack. I suspect the belt is the "problem". These cloth belts can have varying diameters as they wear out. When the thicker part crosses the motor pulley it would pull slightly on the belt causing the idler wheel to move in. A new belt would take care of it. Again, I wouldn't be too concerned.
Also, there's supposed to be a piece of felt or foam glued or stapled to the area of wood below the idler so that if the idler shakes and knocks against the wood, you won't hear it.
