  • Leslie 860 Lower Rotor issue

    Organ Forum!

So, I was on a gig not long ago with my 860 and noticed something sounded a bit off when I had it set to slow. It sounded like the bass rotor wasn't moving, but the horn was. So I pulled back the grill cloth, and sure enough, the bottom rotor wasn't spinning. However, it ramps up and spins as normal when set to fast. Sound is still coming out of the speaker regardless. I was initially wondering if it was a motor issue within the cabinet itself, but now I'm wondering if it has something to do with the combo preamp pedal or cable talking to the amp. Haven't opened up the cabinet yet, because I'm not sure if I have to. Anybody experience anything like this? Are my preamp/cable suspicions on the right track?

Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

The upper & lower fast / slow motors share a common control connection. If the upper slow motor works, then the control circuit should be ok. Check the lower slow motor to see if it engages. Compare to the upper.

check your connectors, then check your motor, may need a new tire, flat spot, or adjustment, or oil
