Uuummm, so sorry to be nitpicky, but maybe until the comments section actually lets us quote other users, it would be more correct if these notes said something like 'reformatted quote'?

The Forum software does not restrict the use of BBCode quote markup in comments. It is true that the quoting buttons place the quote markup in the Reply editor window, but that is by design. Why? Because the context of a Comment is the Post being commented upon. One of the main reasons for the Comment system is to make quoting unnecessary to establish context.

If you wish to place a quote in a comment, the easiest way is to use Power Quotes and cut and paste the quote markup from the Reply editor into the comment, Power Quotes also enable you to quote content in comments themselves. Of course, you can also simply format any text as being a quote by adding BBCode markup manually around the text you are quoting.

For me, I just highlight what I want in the Comment as a quote. When I click on the "Quote" button that appears, it shows up in my posting area at the bottom of the page. I then highlight the quote and copy (Ctrl+C), cut (Ctrl+X), then go to the Comment area and paste (Ctrl+V) it there. On an Apple computer, use the Command button instead of the Ctrl button on the keyboard.

      An example is this:

I then copy the quote and paste it in the Comment area. Nothing personal, but when people do not use the quotes like posted below, it makes it quite difficult to discern between the quoted content and the person's response.

Using the Advanced Editor ("A" in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen) will help you see the quote tags, URL tags, etc. For now, in a Comment, some of those tags need to be entered manually (like quotes).

You can also quote selected text when composing your reply by using the advanced editor. Highlight the text in your response that you wish to quote, then click
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	2.5 KB ID:	865915
in the Advanced editor to toolbar. This will insert the BBCode quote markup brackets around that text.
