I have aquired 27 Wurlitzer service manuals from the 1970s. Covering most all of the major models, custom series, and Fun Maker Series. indianajo, Of the 4000 series, the only ones I have are: 4700, 4070, 4037, 4600, 4601, and 4373 with orbit III. I dont believe these will work for you, but let me know as I'm not to techy with organs-maybe something could be similiar, but I doubt it. Thanks. Duane Becker

Well, I'd hoped to help people with advice repair the high end models with a little more knowledge than I have by using my industrial-hifi-radio-military experience, but I'll take what manuals you will give me- or pay a little. They are not worth $20 each to me, I'm not entering the organ repair business. Fixing high end Wurlitzers is like fixing buggy whips- worth it to a few people but not anything they want to pay for or anything. I don't even have a van, there is no way I could make fixing these things pay expenses for a $20000 used Mercedes/Dodge van that got decent mileage. Organ Service near me in Marengo is answering mail only twice a month for the business they had supporting Conn/Thomas/Kimball, apparently they make more money in a retail job or something. If you don't want my Private Message or cash, fine. I'm not opening a pay-pal account to bid on e-bay, either.

It's been over a year since Duane's last activity here, so I doubt he's still listening. :-(

I've got them. The 575 manual has about an inch thick stack of C size foldout drawings. At $2 each for copies, that would probably cost me over $30. There is also the problem that the copy shop with the D sized copier moved out of the county. They are now a 2 hour bus ride over and a 2 hour bus ride back, also a mile and a half walk one way at the industrial park end. There are few sidewalks and a lot of mantraps (storm sewers) by the side of the road in New Albany.
So if Greenhill or Morelick's wants more than L25 for this book, let me know. I'll schedule the trip riight after the one I need to make to the Social Security Administartion to find out why their website won't talk to me. Their office is a mile and a half in the other direction from the end of the same bus route, across a 2 lane bridge with no sidewalks.
I looked at the amp page schematic diagram, there is no light bulb or CDS cell in the swell pedal. It is a two wiper potentiometer. Oddly, the two signals (tibia and leslie) right before the swell pedal, are Teed off to a "level switch under keybed" which routes some of each signal through two resistors to ground. So if you activate this "level switch", or clean the contacts if they are dirty, you should get much less volume on your 575. If you still have too much volume, those resistors can be decreased in value.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding the service manual, one of the other members has kindly sent me pdf's of the relevant pages to be able to deal with the voice issues, so I'll be able to run with that for now. Thanks also for the info regarding volume control. Hopefully cleaning the contacts on the level switch will make a difference (It's hard to believe the organ left the factory with such a huge difference in volume levels between the voices), but it's handy to know that I can fall back on changing a couple of resistors if a thorough clean fails to do the job.
I won't be touching the Wurli now until after the New Year, but I'll certainly share news of any progress I make with the forum. Thanks again for your help.

No 4100, mostly three digit models from the mid seventies. Try Morelock's organ service of Rienzi MS.

Call Morelock's organ service in rienzi, MS. The copy shop with the B sized copier moved out of the county, at the end of a 1.5 hour bus ride and a 1 1/2 mile walk beyond that. Blowing 5 hours on making $20-30 is not my idea of a good time. If you have a specific question, I'll be glad to take a look and report back.
