  • Everett orgatron project

By accident, I am helping a gentle in Joplin, MO troubleshoot and repair an Everett Orgatron. I believe it is a model STM. It has 5 ranks of reeds and pneumatic operation. We are trying to find any printed information about the organ. A service manual would be the very best. There is very little information about these instrumnets on the net so I have posted lots of pictures of the organ both inside and outside, at http://organexpressions.com/everett_orgatron.htm

    Just WOW!
    What an esoteric item!
Certainly on par with the Novachord.

Sorry I don't have more to offer, but I think you will need to reverse-engineer this beauty.

Contact the Reed Organ Society. www.reedsoc.org
In their journal, there have been articles about the Orgatron with history and I recall seeing a general schematic of the action. It is basically a tubular pneumatic pipe organ action, except it's using suction wind and brass parlor organ reeds. And miles of rubber tubing. If that's the one I'm thinking of. There were also articles on the Ketterman organs, and the Estey pneumatic action reed organs. Easy to confuse all of them.
If you go to the website, you can access the Journal/Bulletin indexes, and find the issue you want, and order a copy from the folks who keep the back issues.

Thank you. The ROS database helped to confirm that we have STM model instrument. That is one step closer. Now we know what manuals we are looking for!

You might need two of these organs to make 1 good one ;-)

I honestly don't think anyone would ever need two of these organs.
