Hello organists,
I recently purchased a 1996 Lowrey Promenade LX400. When I got the organ home and cleaned, everything functioned. All the buttons lit up and all the keys sounded. It worked just fine for a week or two, but suddenly after being turned on one day, all the lights corresponding to presets, mixer, voices, tremolo, and all features flashed on only briefly before going dark.
Now when I turn the organ on, these lights flash on for perhaps a second before going dark. When the lights are dark, I can not change any aspect of the organ's sound- neither voices nor stops, and even the volume pedal has no effect. The organ does play, but only with its power up sound, and at its lowest volume. The information center is also nonresponsive, though it does light up
I should say that this problem only began after I discovered the "FX" foot switch located on the right of the volume pedal. After I pressed this button, the organ went haywire. I am not positive that this is related to my issue, but it does seem likely. I can live without this switch, as I don't expect to incorporate the auto-accompaniment features in my playing. Perhaps I could somehow remove this switch and solve my problem? I am uncertain, as I have never worked on an electronic organ before.
This problem perplexes me. I do have a technician's manual coming soon in the mail, but I am posting here in the hopes that perhaps some of you have encountered similar problems and can enlighten me as to where to begin troubleshooting. I could not find any current threads which discuss this issue.
I look forward to getting this organ back to working order, as I was really beginning to love playing it. Even in it's broken down state I can't help myself, and am playing it with it's power-up sound.
Thanks for any help!
