Hi!
I have a Conn 814 that I have been restoring to full functionality. I recently replaced most of the burnt out 12AU7 tubes and repaired the pedal division. It was working great until the 4 amp fuse on the power supply blew. I replaced the fuse and it immediately blew again.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to diagnose what is causing it to blow? I thought it might be a capacitor that shorted, but there are also transformers on the power supply.
I was able to run continuity tests on most of the capacitors with two terminals, but the tall silver ones have more terminals and I have been unable to find schematics of what each one does. I am not sure where there should be continuity and where there should not be.
If I do need to replace the capacitors (I have read it is advisable to do that if they are over 25 years old) how to I figure out what each terminal does so that I can map that to a new one which likely is slightly different. The two bigger silver capacitors are 40uf, 40uf 475v and the smaller one is a Sprague 40uf 500v.
I attached some pictures and can take more if that would help. `
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
