Does anyone have experience replacing the lights underneath the music stand of a Johannus Ecclesia D-470? A portion of them have gone out, and most of the remaining ones are flickering. Is this something I can potentially fix myself, or do I need to call in a tech? I would appreciate any insights and recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I've never replaced lamps in that particular model, but most lighted music racks have a screw to remove and the plastic will then slip out sideways. Are there any small screws going through the plastic?John

I looked through the Ecclesia service manual schematics and found no diagram for the lighted music rack. The previous product line Rembrandt R377, R397, and R497 use a several strips of surface mount LEDs on a PCB strip. As I remember, its a completely sealed (glued together) assembly and not repairable.
Being this is an Ecclesia it may still be under warranty. Previously the parts warranty was 10 years which was for the Tone Generator/Computer. In the past, (at the Johannus factory's discretion) other portions of the electronics and sub-assemblies were replaced under warranty.
I would complain as it seem to be a factory part defect. Call your dealer and complain. Or contact Johannus directly at aftersales@johannus.com .
If however this instrument was purchased used, the warranty would null and void.Donald R. Resor
