  • Silvertone Electric Organ Model 257 with Bench

Silvertone Electric Organ Model 257 with Bench by Sears - I'm not 100% sure that's what it is, but fairly sure..
I'm curious how much this organ would be worth and how do I go about selling it?
It was my great grandmothers, she had it in her bedroom for years and when she passed away my parents ended up with it, and it's been in the basement until recently we moved it out into the garage. It's basically brand new. Works great.
    I'm in Wichita, Kansas.

You may only view thumbnails in this gallery. This gallery has 4 photos.

Sorry to say that it has no value today.

Sadly, I doubt if you'll be able to even give it away. :( There is no demand for small oldies like this one and there are thousands of newer, bigger and better ones out there for free or for pennies.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Find a family member who is interested in learning organ, and give the great-grandmother's organ to them. That person will likely be the only one who will see value in the organ.

I know that Sears sub-contracted their appliances and electronics to various manufacturers. I wonder who manufactured these instruments for them?

Even though it's value is hardly anything or nothing as others have already said, it's a cool little organ! I enjoy looking around and seeing random things with “Sears” badges on them.

Have you seen Sears & Roebuck reed organs? I have my grandmother's pictured in my Gallery. They were known as Beckwith organs as well. Have you seen any of Sears' houses you could buy from the catalogue?

Depending on the organ, I think they bought organs from other manufacturers and put the badge name of Silvertone on musical instruments. I think Thomas, Lowrey, WurliTzer, Magnus, and others probably made organs for Sears. They may have put it out for bid from year to year.

My Bb Clarinet (wood) is labeled Silvertone, my father's guitar was a Silvertone guitar with accompanying amplifier.
