  • Need Schematic for Deagan Electronic Carillon

I posted a long background on this problem in the general discussion forum. I am in the need of a schematic on a Deagan Carillon. It is a small cabinet self contained amp, striker bars, speaker and keyboard (removed to the organ) which blows fuses. I have found the transformer bad but can replace it with a Hammond model.
What I need are the values of the axiel capacitors in the circuitry (other than the can type electrolytics). They are 2 tube type (axiel) and completely bare. Anyone have a schematics or knowledge of these things?
There is no model number on this thing anywhere.

    Ray,

You may consider contacting member, CarillonBells. He has had several carillon projects over the years. If he can't help you, he may be able to lead you to someone who can.

    Hope this is helpful.

I see you live in West Tn. also. I have three of these units in the shop but need to know if you are repairing the amp. or the paper caps located near the striker coils.

Thanks for responding. I took the amp itself out and took it home. I assume the striker infrastructure is OK. It still looks new. The amp itself has one paper cap looks like 0.5/120VDC and several ceramic discs(3). Also, there are the can type electrolytics. I can get all these by identification markings. There is one also attached to the input terminals (screw terminal) on the outside (RCA end of the case.) It is a red tubular axiel and reads maybe .002/400?. The ones I can't get anything on are the 2 aluminum cased tubular caps. All markings are gone. They could be electrolytic but not sure. One is attached between the 6v6 pin 6 and the output transformer. The other is attached to pin 3 of 6SN7 and the shielded audio lines input. They both look physically the same. I can send you a picture if you need of I can call you or you can call me when we both have one in front of us to describe.

        Any help is appreciated.

        Thanks

        Ray

PM replied to; I will also answer the question here for everyone to keep up. This thing has no model on it. It did have a serial number. Nothing on the box or amp. I have said in several places where I left info about this thing...it looks exactly like the one you will see on the opening page of this site: https://antiquitymusic.com/deagan-carillon I know it is not much help but it is all I have. I suppose I could replace the amp (which did 2 things-power the chime striking and amplify the sound) with a power supply for the chimes and an amplifier for the sound and get it done...I just can't do that if I still have path to fixing this one.

                Ray,

Which Michael did you send the PM to? If it was me, I never received it, but that could be because my mailbox is almost completely full. If it's the other Michael, I know this part of the year is quite busy for pipe organ repairs and tuning in preparation for the Thanksgiving and Advent/Christmas season.

I was trying to get with "pipeorganbuilder" after has said he had a couple of these amps in his shop. His shop is only 40 miles from me here in Tennessee. I was hoping to get a chance to drop by his shop and looking around.

Thanks for checking...I have been know to have a senior moment now and then.

Just an update. Talked with Mike today on phone. He has some of these in his shop. He is very busy this time of year, but we talked and he helped my a lot. I sent him some pictures of the unit and he is looking them over to see if he can get even deeper into the specs. Very helpful. Thanks to him and all who have helped. I will let everyone know what I figure out and the final result.
