  • 1/4" line in on 147?

    Hello all,
I acquired a leslie 147 at a nice price and upon closer inspection, I've noticed it had a 1/4" jack added to it. I'm not sure why or when. By looking at the points that the 2 wires connect to, it appears the intention was for use as an input. It doesn't seem to function as such.
Having a 1/4" input would be great, for other instruments, and I have a tube preamp which would bring any signal up to the level the leslie is used to seeing. Now my questions are these:

Would it be so simple to splice in the leads to the points carrying the organ signal from the 6 pin cable?
Would a kind of switch be necessary to "disable" the organ's audio input while using its power and speed controls?
Should I forget about all of this and get a Dr. Fishsticks style box?

    Thanks for any help!!!

My recently acquired 147 was had the leslie socket removed and two 1/4"sockets added so a guitar and GEM combo organ could be played together, the guitar sounded great.
An extra preamp tube [12au7 ] had been added to provide a suitable preamp for the guitar/ organ combo, however the extra tube was creating a bad hum especially when the volume was turned up so now it's been rewired back to 147 configuration to suit my hammond organ.
I'm working on reestablishing the guitar input preamp this time without the hum, anything is possible, sorry I can't be more specific, but there are plenty of people on this forum who should be able to help
